The Raw Fed Cats E-Book is the culmination of my 4+ year journey of creating, writing and maintaining the Raw Fed Cats website. Along the way I've composed many hundreds of responses to people who have contacted me since the site was first created. I've recieved email from folks from 19 different countries and regions all around the world asking me questions about how and why to feed their cats a raw diet.

This work is the result of hundreds of hours which I've devoted over the years to reading, researching, writing and learning about many interrelated subjects such as feline anatomy, physiology, behavior, health and disease, the atrocious truth about the junk pet food industry, the best and most effective natural and holistic approaches to pet health, and the many incredible benefits of feeding a diet of whole raw foods to domestic carnivores.

An Illustrated Companion Guide

This 165 page volume has been designed to be an easy to use, step by step illustrated companion guide. It offers a clear, comprehensive strategy for feeding cats a natural, healthful diet of whole raw food based on Nature's model of a prey critter.

The book begins with an introduction describing my personal story of how I first discovered raw feeding. I share about the apprehensions I felt in the beginning, and explain how they were overcome on the learning curve I experienced as I explored this subject more deeply and transitioned my own two cats to raw food.

Also included is the entire 8 part text of the Raw Fed Cats website, as well as numerous photographs illustrating the concepts discussed.

The extensive Frequently Asked Questions section, which makes up the bulk of this E-Book, is derived from nearly a thousand emails written by me over the years, and is comprised of my detailed, in depth responses to dozens and dozens of the most frequently asked questions posed to me by my readers since the website first went online early in 2006.

At the end of the book is a list of relevant links and resources for further reading, exploration and support.

Outlining the Fundamentals

This extensively researched document lays the foundation for the many compelling reasons why we should be feeding our domestic pets whole raw foods instead of commercial junk pet food, or even ground raw foods. It examines the basic anatomy and physiology of the feline, stressing the crucial importance of proper oral and digestive health and function, and how these processes impact the overall systemic health of the animal. The profound and varied ways in which diet plays a pivotal role in the health of our furry companions are emphasized and woven throughout.

Also addressed are the various different health benefits of raw feeding. The reasons to choose whole raw foods over ground are elucidated as well. Additionally, revealed within this text are some of the most disturbing and sobering, yet illuminating insights into the filthy business of the industrial manufacturing of commercial junk pet food.

Looking to Nature and using her model of a prey critter as a general guide for assembling a diet of whole raw foods for our carnivorous pets is laid out in a simple, easy to understand format.

A Raw Feeding Primer

The longest section, entitled Practical Guide, is a primer on transitioning your kitty away from commercial pet food and onto a more natural, nourishing and healthy diet of whole raw foods. It offers step by step instructions, hints, tips and tricks for helping you to feel more confident and empowered about starting to feed your cat a raw diet today.

Raising Awareness

Lastly, since the underlying focus of this work is the exploration and practice of the most natural and holistic approaches to health, healing and wellness, the text concludes with a discussion of the issue of Vaccinosis. Vaccinosis is a term that has been coined to describe the myriad symptoms and ailments from which cats are suffering today that are due to damage done by the use and overuse of vaccines. As our consciousness is raised and we begin to consider a broader perspective with regard to the true dietary requirements of our carnivorous friends, our awareness of other factors affecting the health of our pets often also expands correspondingly.

This 8 section text delineates the basics, and serves as the underlying framework upon which my other more comprehensive work, the Raw Fed Cats E-Book, is based.

Common Cat Ailments

Commercial junk pet food is making our carnivorous pets sick!

It's high time more people became educated about the damaging effects of feeding a lifelong diet of commercial pet food to domestic animals, and started learning about the many benefits of raw feeding. As more folks start feeding their pets a more natural diet of whole raw foods and relying on more holistic methods of caring for them, no doubt our animal companions will begin to enjoy greatly improved health and longer, happier lives.

The following is a list of some of the most common ailments from which all too many cats are unecessarily suffering today. This list was compiled from the many actual correspondences I've recieved over the years.

** Each and every one of these conditions was described to me specifically by my readers. **

This list is included here to help raise the awareness of animal lovers the world over about the growing epidemic of chronic degnerative disease afflicting today's domestic pet population, and to encourage everyone who visits this site to become better informed about how and why to feed our carnivorous animal friends a more natural raw diet, and care for them more holistically.

Although a diet of whole raw foods based on Nature's prey model is the most natural, healthy way for our carnivorous companion animals to eat, it is not a cure-all for any or all ailments, nor should it be considered as such. If your pet is ill you are advised to seek out the services of a professional pet health care provider.
